A bounty of reasons to visit Bowen

There’s a bounty of reasons to visit the charming town of Bowen, which sits at the top of Queensland’s Whitsundays region. While we consider it to be an A-grade holiday destination, we’ve conjured up a handy list, ironically beginning with “B”, that’s bound to get you here!

Big Mango:
What’s an Aussie town, without an iconic, oversized landmark? The Big Mango is a 10-metre-tall structure that greets you on the Bruce Highway.

Beautiful Beaches:
This quaint coastal town is home to eight bays and beaches, each with their own unique drawcards. Bowen is also one of the few places in Queensland where you can snorkel right off the mainland, so bathers are a must! Explore fringing reefs and swim alongside hundreds of tiny fish that are keen to say g’day.

Beachfront Accommodation:
There is no shortage of accommodation options in Bowen that sport breathtaking ocean views. We’d suggest staying at Rose Bay Resort, where the water practically laps at your doorstep. Guests have direct access to a secluded beach where you can enjoy a gentle dip, kayak or stand-up paddle board.
