Nothing blows the cobwebs away like a mini-break on the breezy Gold Coast – so if you and your friends have a few days to spare, here’s a sure-fire recipe for fun and rejuvenation.
Firstly, head to the uber-cool village community of Burleigh Heads on the southern end of the coast. Beyond the gorgeous beach, there’s a precinct of exciting retailers and foodie destinations. You can easily spend the morning busily browsing (and buying!) everything from fashion to homewares to… bongo drums!
Head to Three Worlds in James Street and discover your inner circus-performer or musician. This funky store features everything you need to be a drummer, fire-twirler, hula hooper and more. There are in-store demonstrations and pint-sized browsers are more than welcome.
For the home-proud, there are plenty of stores at Burleigh to impress – including the stunning stylings of Maison & Maison. Rugs, Jewellery, homewares, bags, gifts – it’s got the lot for the discerning urban dweller.
Of course, you’ll want to eat out when you’re at Burleigh Heads – and there are some great options.
Tarte Bakery & Café channels a Parisian patisserie on the inside and the street-side chic of New York’s Greenwich Village on the outside.
Pastries are freshly made on-site, daily – and there’s a fabulous all-day breakfast menu. The cookie cup babycino is a big hit with little diners
Time to get serious about your weekend away and check in to your accommodation.
Vibe Hotel Gold Coast has a prime position in the heart of Surfers Paradise – just minutes from sandy beaches, with rooms and suites that boast views across the ocean and hinterland.
Head downside to Driftwood Social – a chill-out bar and dining space right next door to the hotel’s riverside pool. You’ll love the Giant Games Lawn and the views across the peaceful Nerang River.
The menu at Driftwood Social is light and vibrant – just like the venue – with mains and plates to share.
