Roma’s Easter in the Country

We’re bursting out of the chute with Roma’s Easter in the Country – 5 days of family fun including rough riding, goat racing, wife carrying, dining under outback stars, fishing contests and – of course – a monster Easter Egg hunt.

Dirt n Dust Festival

Keeping it country, let’s head to Julia Creek, east of Mt Isa, for its annual Dirt n Dust Festival.

The tiny town swells to more than 3,000 as city-slickers join their country cousins in a kick-up-your-boots celebration.

If you’re game, why not sign up for the South 33 Dirt n Dust Outback Adventure run – a wild and muddy trek that’s not for the feint-hearted or clean freaks.

There’s also a “Best Butt” contest for the shy and retiring.

Boyne Tannum HookUp

Rather wet a line than squeeze into tight jeans? Head to the 28th annual Boyne Tannum HookUp – luring anglers to the Gladstone region.

It’s Australia’s biggest family fishing competition – with a prize pool worth more than $400,000.
