Mount Nathan’s Historic Rivermill

If you’re the type of person that enjoys a good old-fashioned day trip and you love a bit of history too, then mark the Historic Rivermill down as a must-visit destination. You’ll find this charming building in Mount Nathan, about half an hour inland from the Gold Coast.

The building is over 100 years old and was the first and largest of three mills which operated along the Coomera River.

These days, the Rivermill has been transformed into a charming destination for day-trippers complete with an onsite café, petting zoo, quaint museum and play area for kids.

Wade and his partner, Kylee, took over the Rivermill about two years ago. “It’s not uncommon for people to have breakfast and lunch and still be here in the afternoon,” explained Wade. “It’s not just a place to come and eat, it’s an experience. People come out and spend hours here,” he said.

If you’re planning a visit, here are the details:
8am – 4pm, Monday to Friday
7am – 5pm, Saturdays and Sundays
Serving breakfast, lunch coffee, cakes and their famous Nathan Shire Tea.
