Shade and Play Upgrades

Whether you have a family with little people… or well-loved pets… there’s great news from Brisbane City Council.

First up – doing it for the kids!

Council is investing in shade at every public playground in the Greater Brisbane area – with the instalment of either sun-blocking sails or natural tree canopies.

The initiative supports Brissy’s status as a sun-safe city – protecting precious young skin from UV rays.

And families with dogs (Brisbane has more than 110,000 registered owners) are lapping up the council love too!

Unleashing good times at your local dog park, Brisbane City Council is embarking (get it?) on a city-wide upgrade of off-leash areas and dog parks.

The campaign will see the roll-out of new seating, fencing and facilities at urban dog parks – some of which feature agility training equipment. Others are specialized for particular dogs – including little pooches and puppies.

The plan to upgrade dog parks is a paw-some move that’ll only enhance the city’s reputation as a pet-friendly place.

Head to the Brisbane City Council’s website and search “dog parks” and “sun safe playgrounds” to discover more.
