The Curated Plate 2022: Boat and Bush Eats in Mooloolaba

There are not many places in this great country of ours where you can board a 114-year-old boat and sail stunning waterways while indulging by gourmet indigenous-inspired bush foods. Well, Saltwater Eco tours have nailed that proposition with their inclusion of the Curated Side Plate.

Taking inspiration from the Kabi Kabi peoples of the Sunshine Coast, you too can enjoy a feast – think chocolate wattleseed cupcakes, rainforest plum jams, breakfast rolls with kangaroo meat, or emu entrée… different, yes, delicious, definitely yes.

From stepping off the boat and into The Dock at Mooloolaba Wharf, another kind of culinary experience. More than just pub grub, the Dock’s inclusion in the Curated Plate includes 8 paired tap beers with entrees. See the video for the incredible dish that Execute Chef Chris Sell whipped up in a matter of moments.

Crispy chicken skin (as the base) of a fresh Mooloolaba prawn and if that doesn’t have your mouth watering, how about Buffalo Tartare, with a kimchi emulsion sitting on top of a prawn cracker – To. Die. For!
