We’re giving away the gifts as Weekender celebrates 20 years!

For two decades, Weekender has been beaming into loungerooms across Australia and what a privilege it’s been. To celebrate our 20 years on air, we asked our viewers to share what they love about the show, for their chance to join us on a shoot.

We received hundreds of wonderful entries, but Jillian’s response was a standout.

“I’ve always watched Weekender. The show brings a brief holiday into my modest lounge room year in, year out with dreams of visiting many of these places one day,” she wrote.

With our worthy winner picked, it was time to decide on a shoot location. Any day on the tools could see us doing a number of exhilarating activities, from sky diving to hot air ballooning, and everything in between. But we thought a day of pampering was the best way to ease Jillian into lifestyle TV.

With our hypothetical red carpet rolled out, we check into Verandah House Country Estate. This incredible property sits high on the hills of Tamborine Mountain. Guests are treated to sprawling views of Wollumbin Mount Warning, across to the Gold Coast’s city skyline.

Each luxury suite has been thoughtfully designed and styled by owner and interior designer, Judy Pereira. Judy along with her husband, Lawrence spent months transforming the property into the gorgeous hideaway it is today.

Of course, there are umpteen ways to treat yourself during a stay at Veranda House. Whether it’s lazing back in the outdoor hot tub, sinking your teeth into freshly made damper and billy tea or indulging in a blissful spa treatment. Alternatively, you might like to retreat to your room, snuggle up in your robe and pour a glass of red. Have we convinced you yet? Yep – we thought we might’ve!
