Where The Heck Is… Tamrookum?

The little town of Tamrookum lies in the Scenic Rim between Beaudesert and Rathdowney, on the Mount Lindesay Highway. It’s a tiny place with a population under 100, but if it’s worth a stop if you have a few minutes up your sleeve.

There’s the Tamrookum Fill and Feast. It’s a great spot to top up the car, and your belly. And down the road is the old memorial hall that goes back 70 years.

And up on the hill is something quite spectacular, the heritage listed All Saints’ Memorial Church. It was built in 1915 from hardwood and red cedar and it’s really something to behold. It’s open for services, weddings and baptisms and boats lovely views of the Scenic Rim.
