BeetleJuice BeetleJuice sees the return of the “ghost with the most” to cinemas from Thursday 5th September. It’s the long-awaited sequel to the cult comedy classic. Visionary director Tim Burton is returning along with original cast members, Michale Keaton, Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara. Joining them are new cast Jenna Ortega, Willem Dafoe and Monica Bellucci.
The new movie sees trouble brewing when a portal to the Afterlife is accidently opened and the mischievous demon know as Beetlejuice returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem. It promises macabre fun for those who love the original and new fans alike. There’s no better excuse for getting your favourite misfits together, from family and friends, for a creepy, crazy, creative day out. Embrace the eerie and make it more than just watching the movie.
For a whacky world of whimsy and quirk, check in to Hijinx Hotel! This is a place where you PLAY, not stay. There are two locations across Brisbane based in Chermside and Mount Gravatt. Don’t be fooled, these are NOT escape rooms. Each room is made up of an immersive, fast paced game that draws from nostalgia and is uniquely designed for two to six players. All locations have two themed bars that serve up delicious eats and stunning cocktails (like the Bubble and Pop)! Following the challenges, if you’re still feeling “game”, there’s Holy Moley! Located adjacent to the “hotel,” it’s a pop-culture putt-putt extravaganza where the golf is mini, but the play is HUGE!
Tim Burton’s films have always been praised for their design and inventiveness, and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is no exception. It’s bursting with imagination and the director’s signature style. Further expand your mind and get lost in a world of inspiration at the Brisbane Gallery of Modern Art with their latest exhibition, Iris van Herpen – Sculpting the Senses. Van Herpen is known for her unique designs that have been created for some of the biggest stars in the world. This is no ordinary fashion show though. This is an immersive, multi-dimensional experience complete with soundscapes, shadow projections, contemporary art and other discoveries that must be “felt” to be believed.
