Coolum Surfing School offers lessons to all ages and levels of ability. It’s run by locals Chris and Genevieve Kendall. Chris has been surfing at Coolum since he was a child, and now loves nothing more than sharing his passion for the surf. Lessons include a 2-hour beginner lesson and a 90-minute private lesson. Chris and Genevieve also operate the nearby surf shop, Coolum Boardroom, where shoppers can rent and hire surfing gear.
A popular hangout for locals and visitors is The Caf Coolum. It’s open from 6:30 am till 4 pm, seven days a week. It offers a delicious menu stocked with local ingredients. It was created 19 years ago by husband and wife, Di and Simon Stevenson.
