From June 25 to July 3 the Scenic Rim will be hosting Eat Local Week, an incredible event where visitors are invited backstage to meet the farmers and to sample the incredible produce that has put this region on the map.
This year there’s an amazing line up of over 125 events; long lunches, workshops, tours, talks and much more. For foodies, it’s the ultimate event!
The festival is a big boom to the local economy. The festival was last held in 2019 and it brought in 2 million dollars of activity and over 40,000 visitors.
This year some of the signature events include the “City Chef X Blume Series”. It’ll be held at Boonah’s new hit restaurant Blume, and the event will see a series of top chefs create a four day long lunch with the freshest of local Scenic Rim produce. Guests will be brought to Boonah from Brisbane by bus, and up to 9 courses will be served each day.
Another event sure to be a hit will be held at Kooroomba Vineyard, Winery and Restaurant. Their ‘Tapas at Sunset’ event will be held on Sunday June 26 and include award winning wines, a four-course dinner and of course, tapas and a glorious Scenic Rim sunset.
And on the subject of the Scenic Rim, there’s another upcoming event that is sure to be popular. The 2-day Clydesdale and Heavy Horse Spectacular is on at the Boonah Showgrounds on the 11th and 12th June.
There will be horses, working dogs, Scottish pipes, blacksmith demos, the wood chop and so much more. Head to the website now for tickets!
