The Conondale Range contains some of Queensland’s most popular and picturesque rainforests, with spectacular scenery well worth a visit.
Watch the video above to see Kip explore the 35,700-hectare Conondale National Park in a 4WD. The day trip is a decent drive from the big smoke, tucked away behind Maleny.
Our crew stops in Woodford for some of the best country snags, then winds through the bush, taking the milkman’s route up towards Kenilworth.
Conondale’s scenery is varied and on some sections of the dirt road, there are big drops off the hillside.
Many of the access roads in the park are dirt, and with a couple of creek crossings, it’s best to have a high-clearance 4WD. (In wet weather, roads may be closed).
We also recommend a walk to Booloumba Falls, where you’ll see a variety of wildlife among the cascades and rock pools. The park suggests allowing two hours for the 3-km return walk.
