If the word pottery conjures up images of practical (and boringly brown) plates, mugs and pots, then prepare to have your ideas reshaped entirely by an exciting new exhibition at Museum of Brisbane in City Hall.
Clay: Collected Ceramics features flamboyant and ground-breaking new works by 5 commissioned contemporary artists – plus items from a priceless private collection owned by Brisbane ceramist, Kylie Johnson.
There’s also a display of community donated works called Commune, reflecting the city’s breadth of talented potters and ceramists.
Why not pop into the Museum of Brisbane’s gift shop and take home a ceramic souvenir of your own?
The exhibition is on until October.
