The Scenic Rim is only an hour or so drive southwest of Brisbane – yet somehow – it feels like you’ve entered a whole other world. We took the spacious, 7 seat Isuzu MU-X to explore the Lost World Valley, a particularly special spot. Two families fit easily in the MU-X while cruising around the grounds of our base for the weekend, Worendo Cottages.
The luxury accommodation is perched high on a hilltop overlooking the incredible ranges beyond. Each cottage has a breathtaking view and there’s a renovated homestead guests can book too. It’s a true farm stay and little helpers are encouraged. You can feed the sheep and friendly cows and collect fresh laid eggs from the chickens. The Scenic Rim is known for its local produce and Worendo can organise a delicious gourmet picnic from their incredible caterers using local meats, cheeses and produce.
