A sweet surprise in the City of Logan

Croissants, creamy doughnuts, and chocolates as far as the eye can see! If you’re partial to a sweet treat, then the City of Logan has it all.

On any given day, you’ll find hordes of sweet-tooths flocking to Bake It Bakery and Café in Underwood. Eunji is the creative wizard behind the kitchen’s Korean inspired treats. She and her team have created what’s now known as the “Chubby Doughnut”, a brioche / doughnut bun loaded with flavoured cream… yes please!

Buttery goodness abounds in this corner of Queensland.

Croixssant is an artisan bakery from Melbourne that has recently opened its second store in Hillcrest. The bakers have not only mastered the art of our favourite flakey pastry, but they’ve also drawn on their Indonesian heritage to create a variety of delicious baked goods, from a Mie-Goreng Brulee to Pandan pain au choc! That’s what you call a true gift from the pastry-Gods!

If you thought Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory was only make believe, then you probably haven’t stepped foot into Poppy’s Chocolate in Beenleigh. Lynda and her team of chocolatiers have been satisfying chocolate cravings around Australia since 2005! It’s not just about the classics here. The team have experimented with a range of freeze dried treats that have all been chocolate coated with only the finest Belgian Chocolate.

A sweet soiree through the City of Logan isn’t complete without a stopover at Sooo Sweet in Slacks Creek. The bakery is known for making some of the best Middle Eastern and Lebanese sweets around. Owner, Malake is a master of making Baklava! There are more than 10 flavours to choose from and if you can’t make up your mind (… no judgement here) you could always take home a Baklava Giftbox Mix.

So, are croissants your kryptonite, or do doughnuts send you into a sugary spin? Whatever satisfies your sweet tooth, be sure to earmark the City of Logan as a must visit!
