| Brisbane’s most iconic shopping destination, Brisbane Arcade is wrapping up its 100th year celebrations with a sparkling Christmas display, on until the 28th of December.
The annual display is a cracker, attracting thousands of shoppers that are keen to get into the festive spirit. The striking display features more than 1,000 metres of sparkling gold LED lights, around 12,000 individually attached baubles and more than 70 luxe gold bows. Christmas in the Arcade is fun and frivolous, but it’s also serious business. Preparations begin in February, as the team start to workshop ideas and prepare the complete installation. And then, much like the night before Christmas, a group of 12 Arcade elves spend over 10 hours overnight to install the display. The tinsel and trees are just one of the many reasons to visit Brisbane Arcade in December. It’s also one of the best spots to Christmas shop, home to Queensland’s royalty of fashion and jewellery designers along with luxe gift emporiums, high tea venues, beauty salons, busy designer workrooms and more.
