Fly High in the Scenic Rim

The Scenic Rim has it all. Craft breweries, boutique wineries, local produce, ancient rainforest, hiking trails and plenty more.

One way to see it all from a bird’s eye view is with Oz Paragliding and Hang Gliding.

Based just under an hour out of Brisbane in Boyland, this flight school is unique in offering both tandem hang gliding and paragliding so you can take your pick!

It’s just one of the many action activities the Scenic Rim offers up.

“It’s amazing we’ve got ballooning here, we’re got hang gliding, we’ve got beautiful mountains, said Lisa.

After an action-packed morning, sustenance is in order and The Grooms Cottage at Binna Burra offers up some amazing locally sourced produce, as well as a stellar view!

The cottage is one of the last remaining Heritage buildings within Binna Burra Lodge. It was the original home of Arthur Groom who alongside Romeo Lahey established Binna Burra.

“This beautiful cottage was built and my Grandma brought up my Dad and his two brothers in the 1930s in this tiny little cabin,” said Lisa. “Dad in the 70s was one of the managers here so he enjoyed building up the place. He enjoys talking about nature and taking people into nature.”

Binna Burra also offers up plenty of accommodation options, from safari camping to the luxury sky lodges. Those views need to be seen to be believed.
