It’s a beach driving road trip like no other – a stretch of golden highway from Noosa Northshore to Rainbow Beach, where thousands of avid four-wheel drivers traverse each year.
Great Beach Drive 4WD Tours offer direct and extended vehicle access to protected Double Island Point Lighthouse. They also provide interactive coloured sand presentations as part of their tours.
“It’s such a unique experience,” Greg Lewis told us. “It’s very rarely you can do this sort of thing anywhere around the world, and I think people have to pinch themselves. They can’t believe that they’re actually driving on a beach in such a beautiful setting.”
The one-day tours span over 70 kilometres of beaches, with highlights including the Double Island Point Lighthouse, Honeymoon Bay’s lagoon swims and Carlo Sandblow. June to October is whale season and you’re also likely to see dolphins, manta rays, turtles, soldier crabs, and birdlife year-round.
