Hamilton Island

When you picture an island holiday, most Queenslanders first think of Hamilton Island. You can fly direct from Brisbane or catch the ferry from Airlie Beach. It’s the most developed of all the islands in the Great Barrier Reef, with an impressive list of restaurants, bars and resorts.

The Beach Club is situated on Catseye Beach and overlooks the idyllic Coral Sea. There is a private restaurant and lounge to relax and enjoy a meal or sip down a cocktail or two. Book yourself into one of the newly renovated guest rooms to take in more of the incredible view.

The Hamilton Star operates daily from the marina and leisurely glides around the Whitsunday Islands, with cocktails and canapes to boot.

Just a short ferry ride from Hamilton Island is Dent Island – home to the Hamilton Island Golf Club. The course opened 7 years ago and was designed by British Open World Champion, Peter Champion. If you happen to be not much of a golfer, there’s always the club house where you can enjoy a delicious bite to eat.
