Hot Air Ballooning in Cairns

There are countless ways to explore Queensland, from road trips to rail journeys, and everything in between. However, given the vastness of the landscape, one could argue that the best way to get a true sense of the country, is to see it by air.

Now, you could choose the conventional method of hopping into a plane but if your sense of adventure gets the better of you, hot air ballooning is the way to go!

Hot Air Cairns has been taking to the skies for over 20 years! Their launch pad is about an hour east from Cairns in Mareeba, on the Atherton Tablelands. It’s an early morning start but we guarantee the experience will be worth every hour of lost sleep! While in the basket, the heat from the burner can get quite strong, so we’d recommend wearing a hat. Another tip; make sure your phone is fully charged because you’re going to want to take a thousand photos! In total, it’s about a 3-hour experience.

Just because you’ve landed back on solid ground, doesn’t mean you have to hop off cloud nine. The Riley in Cairns is the ultimate spot to put your feet up and let your hair down. The resort forms part of the Crystalbrook Collection, a series of luxury hotels across Australia. There are many reasons to book a stay here, so we’ll just name a few. There are spacious, airy rooms to relax in. You can treat your tastebuds to a meal at one of their three onsite restaurants. You can spend hours in the resort’s lagoon pool, which has become the centrepiece of the resort. And don’t forget to pop into the Eleme Spa where you can spoil yourself with one of their beautiful treatments!

If you ask us, a holiday that involves plenty of pampering, along with a good dose of adventure, is our perfect recipe to an unforgettable getaway!
