Jacaranda season in the city of Ipswich

Jacaranda season is just around the corner and the most breathtaking place to take in these blooms is, of course, our heritage city, Ipswich.

Start your day at dawn with a sunrise hot air balloon ride with Floating Images. Pilot, Graeme Day, has been flying for over 30 years and boasts spring as the time to gain altitude and spot these purple pretties from above.

These tours can be booked during October and November, and as part of the package – a post-flight feed is included back in town.

Keen to hit the pavement and marvel a little closer? Wander the streets and you’ll find these pops of purple span far beyond the blooms…

4 Hearts Brewing pays tribute to Spring with a jacaranda-inspired cocktail at their Pumpyard Bar. It too is only offered for the months of October and November.

Somewhere else that shows off at that time is the Woodlands of Marburg, a historic mansion set on 250 acres of lush green gardens and rolling hills… about 30-minutes from the city of Ipswich.

While you can’t stay in the mansion itself… there are plenty of accommodation options in the gorgeous grounds of this country retreat. Oh – and jacarandas are the centerpiece!
