The Brisbane Valley Rail Trail follows the old Brisbane Valley railway corridor from Wulkuraka, outside Ipswich, northwest to Yarraman. It is broken into easily achievable sections that intersect with interesting towns and villages, which passes through beautiful southeast Queensland country. The Moore to Blackbutt section is just over 30km long.
The next big cycle event for the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Users Association is a twilight ride in October. It’s from Yarraman to Linville and finishes with a Hāngi at the pub.
There’s plenty of information online for cyclists, horse riders and walkers who want to explore the various sections of the track.
Moore B&B is a charming century-old Queenslander which is a great base from which to discover the rail trail. It can sleep up to 12 people in 4 queen beds and 4 single beds and it has a lock-up garage for bicycles.
