Poppy’s Chocolate Factory

Ever heard the story of Willy Wonka? You know the one. Where the little boy wins a chance for a tour of the chocolate factory.

Well in the Brisbane suburb of Beenleigh, you can be that kid in a candy store.

Poppy’s Chocolate Factory is that candy store, but instead of Willy Wonka, there’s owner Lynda Pedder, A.K.A “Poppy”.

“Well Poppy is my nickname,” she said. “So my Mum used to call me Poppy when I was a kid and that came from lollipop which I think is really appropriate for someone who’s ended up with a chocolate factory.”

Chocolate has been in Poppy’s blood from a young age as her Nan had a bit of a sweet tooth.

“She taught me to actually order dessert before you order your main meal,” Poppy laughed.

When it comes to her current favourite chocolate of her range, Poppy recommends the caramel chocolate coated macadamias. Other amazing flavours include the Red Lips (milk chocolate and strawberry), the Passionart (white chocolate and passionfruit), and the Crème de Menthe (dark chocolate and peppermint).

As well as the amazing range of mouth-watering treats, Poppy’s offers Choc n’ Chat chocolate tours where you can view how the chocolates are made by the very talented chocolatiers.

There are also chocolate making workshops where you can give it a go for yourself, and of course, take the fruits of your labour home at the end of it all.

The workshops are constantly changing and make for a great activity with the kids, a group of friends, or even a special event.

Give Poppy’s a call to join a Choc n’ Chat tour or book a workshop. And to purchase some of the delicious Poppy’s chocolates, head to the Beenleigh store or the chocolate café in Robina. We guarantee there’s no better way to satisfy that sweet tooth.
