Queensland farm-stay getaway at Bestbrook Mountain Resort

Feeding lambs, milking cows, riding horses, collecting eggs and churning butter…

It’s all in a day’s work (make that a day’s fun) at Bestbrook Mountain Resort.

The family-owned farm-stay is two hours’ drive from Brisbane, not far from Warwick on Queensland’s Southern Downs – and features a grand homestead, bush campsites, and two to three-bedroom cabins – all set on hectares of creek-crossed countryside.

Free farmyard activities are part of the experience – a great way for city kids to learn where eggs, milk and bacon come from.

Accommodation is self-catering – but there is the option to order hearty meals at the homestead’s licensed restaurant.

Bestbrook Mountain Resort makes a great place to explore the surrounding area, too – including beautiful Main Range National Park.

The Goomburra Valley section of the park is a popular spot for campers and bushwalkers – with a network of trails fanning out from Manna Gum Campground.

For an easy stroll, take the 1.2-kilometre Dalrymple Creek Circuit, which follows the flow of a gentle stream and includes interpretive panels about the area’s logging history and wildlife.
