Where to quench your thirst – morning, ‘noon and night – in the City of Logan

When it comes to a cracking cup of coffee, the City of Logan sets the bar high. One of the newest kids on the block is Never Been in Underwood. Whether you’re a coffee connoisseur or just enjoy a little kick start to your day, you’re bound to find the perfect brew here. One of the first things you notice when you step inside the café is the flavorsome smell of freshly ground coffee. The café uses Roast by Yili, a premium boutique roaster that is making waves on the Gold Coast and beyond.

Specialty coffee is an artform and one that’s also mastered at Kiwanda Café at Distillery Road Market in Eagleby. Owner, Kenton Campbell knows a thing or two about great coffee as he’s also the founder of Zarraffa’s Coffee. Kiwanda is the brand’s “factory-concept café”, which means you’ve got front row seats to the Zarraffa’s roastery. Here they produce around ten tonne of coffee a week for Zarraffa’s across Australia.

Prefer lager to lattes? Then you’ll want to mosey across to Perentie Brewery which sits under the same roof. The team independently brew their beers using traditional German lager brewing processers. The brewery is Kenton’s newest venture and already has beer enthusiasts excited.

From one of the newest breweries in town, to the oldest distillery in Australia – this stretch of bitumen in the City of Logan really does have it all. We are of course talking about Distillery Road, which is where you’ll find Distillery Road Market and the historic Beenleigh Artisan Rum Distillery. The distillery released its first batch in 1884, which makes it the oldest operating rum distillery in Australia. Worldclass rum isn’t the only reason to darken the doorstep of the distillery. Their onsite restaurant serves up mouthwatering meals, from sticky beef ribs to char-grilled chili garlic squid.

Whether you’re after a morning pick-me-up or an afternoon delight, this is the city to quench your thirst.
