Southern Sky Glamping

Nestled atop a beautiful mountain, with a backdrop of lush sub-tropical rainforest, Tamborine Mountain is one of the many weekend playgrounds, just a short drive from the Gold Coast and Brisbane.

Being one of the area’s most popular tourist attractions – Cedar Creek Falls is a top spot for a picnic. With a short 900m walk from the car-park, you’re rewarded with stunning views over the open canyon, waterfall and rock pools. TIP: Be sure to pack in a towel, an esky and a packed lunch.

Just a few minutes away is the third oldest distillery in Queensland. Tamborine Mountain Distillery serves up “poisons” of many persuasions liqueurs, schnapps, gins, vodkas, oh, and there’s a potent absinthe as well, which we’re told will cure any ail. Try a tasting with a group of mates – with over 100 flavours, most of which are Australian native-inspired, there’s sure to be one that is pleasing to your tastebuds.

Bookings are essential for all group and any parties of more than five persons.

Stay a little longer on Tamborine Mountain – Southern Sky Glamping’s self-contained safari tents are a perfect place for families to retire for the night, or two.
