Get your tastebuds ready – the Tastes of the Tablelands Festival is an annual festival held in the town of Atherton, west of Cairns. This year the event will be held on 16 October with a rich diversity of produce and producers that the ‘food bowl of the north’ offers.
There are market stalls, live entertainment, cooking and chef competitions and much more.
North Queensland has a range of foodie events on throughout the year.
Coming up next month for example is the Feast of the Senses festival. It’s on from the 11th to the 20th March in Innisfail. It celebrates the culture and cuisine of the local community and showcases its rare and exotic tropical fruit.
And in May, there’s the Port Douglas Carnivale, which always delivers an action packed program of food, art, and celebrity chefs.
