Taste the Tweed!

Folded into the green hills of the Tweed Valley – 2 hours from Brisbane – is a bevy of farms and artisan producers making the most of the region’s rich volcanic soil and lush climate.

The best way to sink your teeth into this bountiful valley? Hop on board a “Tastes of the Tweed” tour and get ready for a delicious day out.

Tweed Escapes runs small group adventures led by a knowledgeable foodie guide.

With views of majestic Mount Warning as a backdrop, you’ll explore some of the valley’s myriad farms and producers. Stops may include cheese tasting at a fourth-generation run dairy farm and a visit to Bucks Farm which grows organic bush tucker and exotic fruits.

As a palate cleanser, there’s a visit to the impressive Tweed Regional Gallery in Murwillumbah – where you’ll find unique exhibits including Monet’s famous Haystack painting, currently on loan, and a recreation of Aussie artist Margaret Olley’s Sydney studio.

Wash it all down with a craft gin and rum tasting at Husk Distillery.

The tour runs for 8 hours and includes transport, all tastings and lunch.
