The Bundaberg Barrel

The Bundaberg Barrel takes visitors behind the scenes of Bundaberg Brewed Drinks and the famous ginger beer we all know and love.

The self-guided tour starts with the family gallery that tells the story of that first brew in 1968 to today’s range of 14 flavours.

Ranging from traditional lemonade to passionfruit and sarsaparilla, the drinks are made with real ingredients that are mostly locally sourced like ginger and sugar cane from Bundaberg, lemons from the Central Burnett region and mangoes from northern Australia.

“They can be brewed for around one day like the peach right up to seven days like our lemon, lime and bitters.,” said Tammy Fisher from The Barrel.

As for the brewing process, you can see how it all comes together in a bubbling hot pot of flavour infusion.

“It’s extracting maximum flavour out of our real ingredients,” Tammy said.

Speaking of flavour, you can’t go past the taste test where you can sample all the brews including the limited edition spiced ginger beer, which comes out just in time for Christmas each year.
