Tropical Journeys – Low Isles Half Day Tour

In Port Douglas – north of Cairns – the pace is relaxed. But even on holidays, time can be
precious.

Do you only have a few hours up your sleeve but the siren song of the Great Barrier Reef is calling? No problem – because Tropical Journeys runs half-day tours twice a day from Port Douglas Marina to the Low Isles.

Low Island is a small coral cay on the inner Great Barrier Reef, just 30 minutes from the mainland.

Included in the tour is an excursion over coral bommies on board a glass-bottom boat. That’s followed by a guided snorkelling tour of the island’s fringing reefs. You’ll see an array of fish, giant clams and soft corals – along with sea turtles that feed on coral and jellyfish.

There’s time on the island to explore its sandy paths. Take a stroll to the heritage lighthouse which was built in 1878.

The tour is perfect for those short on holiday time – or families with small children.
