Turtles on Mon Repos

Queensland Rail Travel’s tilt train is a great way to travel up and down the coast between Brisbane and Rockhampton. The tilt train fleet carries over 180,000 passengers a year at speeds of up to 160kmh.
On-board there’s both economy and business class. In business class, guests receive a complimentary orange juice and have hot meals delivered to their seats.
Bundaberg is a beautiful regional city that is known as the gateway to the Southern Great Barrier Reef. It’s also near Mon Repos beach which has the largest loggerhead turtle nesting population in the south Pacific.
Between November and January giant loggerheads nest and lay their eggs. And between January and March visitors can marvel at the tiny hatchlings emerging and scurrying down the beach!
Prices for the incredible Mon Repos Turtle Encounter start at just $6.45 for kids and $12.40 for adults. The season kicks off soon and visitors must book their spot in advance at the Bundaberg tourism website.
