Warming Up for Christmas

Christmas on the Gold Coast is a time of special traditions.

We’re talking long days at the beach… family picnics (with fresh prawns, of course) … and a little elf tells us that Santa arrives on a surfboard rather than a sleigh!

But there’s one holiday tradition that’s an evergreen family favourite – the annual City of Gold Coast Mayor’s Christmas Carols.

And this year, the seasonal singalong turns 10!

It’ll be a night of festive family fun at HOTA, the Gold Coast’s home of the arts.

Channel 7 is proud to present and telecast the event – with hosts on the night including 7NEWS Gold Coast’s Amanda Abate and Steve Titmus.

The Carols are also proudly backed by radio station, 102.9 Hot Tomato.

Like archangels of the airwaves, Hot Tomato’s Breakfast Crew – Emily Jade, Galey and Christo – have been spreading the word to the Gold Coast community and will help shepherd proceedings. Emily Jade is among a line-up of local talent who’ll perform on the night.

The big show-stoppers include the very talented, Kate Miller-Heidke and singer-songwriter, Dami Im.  Along with your favourite carols, Dami will perform her recently released single, “Pray” from her new album.

Other acts will include the Brisbane City Gospel Choir – performing classic carols and songs, some with a modern twist.

And Singing Santa will make a special musical appearance – to spread Yuletide joy to the thousands expected to attend.

The City of Gold Coast Mayor’s Christmas Carols, presented by Village Roadshow Theme Parks, happen at HOTA on Saturday 4th December.  The event is free to attend – but you must book.

Limited tickets are available from midday on Monday 15th November.  Book online at www.hota.com.au.
