Nambour’s Art Scene

If you love art, colour and creative expression, you’ll love exploring the hinterland regions of Nambour and Eumundi on the beautiful Sunshine Coast.

Nambour was once a big hub for local farming – but these days culture is giving agriculture a run for its money.

It’s all due to the inspired thinking of one community-minded woman.

Lorraine Taylor founded a not-for-profit group called Street Art Nambour, after moving to the town in 2017.

She invited local street artists to contribute to beautifying the town with a series of colourful murals.

In just 3 years, 45 amazing artworks have sprung to life on walls and buildings around Nambour – and that’s just the tip of the paintbrush, people!

Lorraine is keen to create a Sunshine Coast Street Art Trail to link the region’s small hinterland towns.

While artists splash around with colour and texture, chefs work with taste and aroma to create very different kinds of masterpieces.

Piggyback at Palmwoods is a new dining destination sending Sunny Coast foodies into raptures…

One of more than 9 lauded restaurants and cafes in the Sunshine Coast region, launched by owner Tony Kelly, Piggyback offers innovative Asian cuisine – with short, sharp and punchy flavours presented in colourful, eye-catching dishes to share.

Once you’ve walked with art and eaten art, the only thing left to do is sleep with art – not as kinky as it sounds!

Say hello to Hola! It’s also known as – the House of Local Art… and you’ll find it in the pretty hinterland town of Eumundi, right next door to the famous Imperial Hotel

There are 15 exquisite rooms here – all just a stroll from Eumundi’s famous markets.

Each is a temple to home-grown art and design – with hand-chosen furniture and oh-so-arty decorative touches throughout.

One suite is even called The Gallery due to the fact it’s adorned with no fewer than 8 individual artworks on the wall.
