The Whitsundays is home to 74 sparkling blue islands bobbing around the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. Airlie Beach is the stepping-off point, offering holidaymakers plenty of options to get out and explore them.
For travellers short on time, a day tour is a great option. Red Cat Adventures have the Thundercat – a custom built vessel that offers passengers a sturdy trip around the Whitsundays.
The Thundercat departs daily from Abel Point Marina. It’s a full day out stopping at world famous, Whitehaven Beach on Whitsunday Island. It also includes a walk-up Hill Inlet on the northern end of the beach for incredible views over the swirling blue water and dazzling white sand. Lunch is served onboard and then the tour takes in two wonderful snorkelling spots – Peters Bay on the north-east coast of Whitsunday Island, and at Manta Ray Bay on Hook Island where snorkellers are rewarded with a “fish massage” – trust us, it’s a lot of fun!
A day out on the Thundercat with Red Cat Adventures IS an adventure! It’s a great option for families. All the snorkelling gear is included, as well as lunch. Red Cat have a few other tours too, so be sure to check them out.
