Queensland Tourism Awards 2018

There is nothing more we love than celebrating the very best of our beautiful state at the Queensland Tourism Awards each year. We are continually blown away, year after year, by the incredible standard of Queensland tourism and the beauty of our state. Here are some of the fantastic attractions that won gold this year!

Capricorn Caves

Winning gold in the Tourist Attraction category is a natural marvel thousands of years old and located near Rocky. You might remember it from when Luke and Cody visited with their family recently. Learn more about their adventure here!

Mount Isa Mines Rotary Rodeo

We are so excited that it was an Outback event that won gold in the Festival & Events category! A big congratulations goes to The Mount Isa Mines Rotary Rodeo, the largest rodeo in the southern hemisphere. What makes the Rodeo even more impressive is that it has been running for sixty years. Can you believe that?

The first museum in the world dedicated to a song!

Another fantastic Queensland icon that won gold at this year's Queensland Tourism Awards, was the incredible Waltzing Matilda Centre out in Winton… ?For all the details, visit http://bit.ly/QLDTourismAwards2018

Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers

For those in the South-East, the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers needs no introduction! This fantastic Spring event is almost in its 70th year, and it just keeps getting more popular with locals and visitors travelling from all over Australia to see the town in bloom. And, of course it is not just the flowers we love – the music, food, wine and entertainment is reason enough to visit. For more information, click here!

Waltzing Matilda Centre

Way out West in Winton, the Waltzing Matilda Centre also won gold. The Waltzing Matilda Centre is the first museum in the world to be dedicated to a song, and we love that! The Museum celebrates everything that is special about Outback Queensland and showcases Winton’s past.

Luke and Cody also visited the Waltzing Matilda Centre earlier this year on a special adventure to the Outback. See what they got up to on their travels here!

Come on a tour around the Bundaberg Rum factory!

It is no surprise to us that this Aussie legend is among the gold winners at this year's Queensland Tourism Awards ??? If you are a Bundaberg Rum fan, keep your eyes peeled because in a few weeks, we are giving away two very special bottles of Luke and Cody's special blend! With three different tours on offer, a visit is a great experience and a fantastic way to learn about the history behind the legendary brand. You can even blend your own rum!

Red Cat Adventures

In this year’s Awards, Red Cat Adventures won two awards for their fantastic tours around the Great Barrier Reef. Victoria recently spent a day with Red Cat Adventures, touring the spectacular Whitsundays. With a stop at Whitehaven Beach, a walk up to Hill Inlet, snorkelling and lunch on board, she certainly was not disappointed!
