The Vision Splendid Outback Film Festival is an annual event in the town of Winton in Outback Queensland.
Held over ten days in June, it’s a celebration of movie making in the Outback. There’s a full program of film premieres shown at the Royal Open Air Theatre where you can enjoy a movie the old fashioned way, laid back in canvas seats under the stars.
The historic Royal Open Air Theatre was established in 1918 and is one of the few outdoor cinemas still operating in Australia.
Also during the festival, there’s the option to jump on movie location tours to visit spots used in the Australian films, The Proposition and Goldstone.
Kids don’t miss out either, as there are film screenings, as well as arts and craft activities tailored to their tastes.
It’s worth jumping on RACQ’s webpage to see if there are any discounts to upcoming events. They offer savings on stacks of shows and events happening all over QLD. A great way to save a few bucks.
