For two decades, Queensland Rail Travel’s Tilt Train has given passengers the opportunity to explore Queensland’s incredible east coast. The service runs weekly, travelling between Brisbane and Rockhampton, with plenty to see and do along the way! From whale encounters in Hervey Bay, to the magical Capricorn Caves in Rockhampton or diving into the breathtaking Lake McKenzie on Fraser Island.
This trip we hopped on in Brisbane with Bundaberg in our sights! For those who fancy a tipple, the Bundaberg Rum Distillery is a must. Here, you can learn about the inner workings of Queensland’s famous distillery or learn about its incredible 130th year history. We’re all about making the most of a journey so it’s always a plus when you can time a visit right to include a festival! Especially, when it only comes around once a year. We visited Bundaberg in October, which meant we could get amongst the festivities at the annual The Lighthouse Festival. The event is a celebration of the lifestyle, culture and opportunity of the Bundaberg region and if you ask us, that’s plenty of reasons to celebrate!
