Take a drive through the towns of the Western Downs and discover great characters and rich rural heritage.
In Dalby, the Pioneer Park Museum boasts one of the state’s biggest collections of working, historical farm equipment – set in a village of historical buildings maintained by a dedicated band of volunteers. Each year, the park holds its Field Day Weekend where the public can see heritage tractors, thrashers, corn huskers, shearing equipment, steam engines – and all manner of rural contraptions – in action. Entry fees and proceeds go towards the upkeep of the village and its collection.
Close to all the conveniences of the town’s centre is Dalby Tourist Park. This beautifully kept holiday village features comfortable, modern, self-contained cabins with 1 or 2 bedrooms, or studio configuration.
There are also generous, powered sites for vans or tents – some situated next to peaceful Myall Creek. The park offers free BBQ’s and Wi-Fi – plus a great camp kitchen and fire-pit. Stroll the tranquil creek-side walkway, adjacent to the park, and it’s just a few minutes to the shops and cafes of Dalby’s heart.
