Jimbour House lies about 20 minutes north of Dalby. Back in its glory days, its holding stretched over 120,000 hectares and was home to 200 people and over 300,000 sheep.
Today the property is a much more modest 4,500 hectares. It’s still a working station, with about 2000 head of cattle.
The main attraction at Jimbour is its grand homestead and gardens. The gardens are open every day and visitors can explore them on the ‘Living History Walk’. All that’s needed is a gold coin donation and a brochure which visitors can pick up at the entrance. The walk is self-guided and explores the fascinating history of the station and the families that called it home.
