For more than 30 years Horseshoe Bay Ranch (originially Bluey’s) has provided travellers from all over the world with the truly magical experience of swimming with their horse in one of the most beautiful locations on earth, Magnetic Island, Queensland.
The ride starts through native Australian bushland and arriving at a pristine beach. Usually, once you reach the half-way point of a trail ride, the horses start to pick up a bit of pace because they know they are on the home run – not here – because the true fun is yet to come.
Once you hit the sandy beach, you unsaddle your horse and experience the sensation of riding bareback in the ocean.
Horseback riding on the beach is a popular thing to do on Magnetic Island. The horses at Horseshoe Bay Ranch are calm-natured, catering for the first-time rider through to those with more experience.
Two hour rides are available every day between 8.30am and 2.30pm.
