It’s Live in Queensland – October

We’re getting to the pointy end of the year, but it’s not too late to enjoy a flurry of amazing events and festivals in 2023!

Footy fans will flock to Townsville for the Northern Australia Beach 5s Championship from the 17th to the 19th November.

Beach 5s is a relatively new sport – a five-a-side, sand-based showdown with modified rules mixing Rugby Union, Rugby League and touch football.

Its annual summer event – the Northern Australian Beach 5s Rugby Championship – is set to turn Townsville’s Strand into a tropical footy arena with both day and night games – and entry is free for spectators.

League legend, Johnathan Thurston, is just one of the big-name ambassadors for this exciting new sport.

Beautiful Hamilton Island in the dazzling Whitsundays is gearing up for a bumper sporting weekend on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th November.

The annual Hammo Triathlon and Ocean Swim events will run back-to-back across two big days.

On the Saturday, triathletes will tackle the island’s inner terrain and its blue seas in a swim, cycle and run challenge suitable for all ages and fitness.

Swimmers then get to make a splash on the Sunday in the Hamilton Island Ocean Swim from Catseye Beach.

Something for culture lovers now.

Returning for its 3rd big year, Wynnum Fringe is set to put Brisbane’s bayside at the heart of a 3-week carnival, celebrating non-mainstream arts and entertainment.

The festival runs from the 15th November to the 3rd December and includes ticketed and free events for all the family.
