Kawana Skydive and Stay

Experience the thrill of seeing the Sunshine Coast from 14,000 feet in the air with 1300 Skydive’s Sunshine Coast Skydivers and you’ll still be flying high long after you plant your feet back on the ground.

“Our company, 1300 SkyDive, we’ve been around for about 45 years or so and our owner, he’s the most experienced skydiver in Australia. He’s done about 36,000 jumps.” Said skydiver Hamish Stratford.

After getting harnessed up and a quick briefing, you’re onto the light but powerful aircraft and soon climbing to that 4.2 kilometre target and then, well you know the rest.

The jump!

You’ll freefall for about a minute before the parachute comes up and you experience the 6 minute gentle glide back to earth enjoying spectacular scenery along the way.

“Bribie Island, we’ve got Moreton Island, Mount Coolum, Noosa, we’ve got a beautiful view.” Hamish said.

When it comes to somewhere to stay, accommodation is mere seconds from the landing spot at The Outlook, on the banks of Currimundi Lake.

Tranquil and picturesque… it’s ideal spot to help that adrenaline subside.

“You’ve got the lake right in front of you, you’ve got the beach next to you as well, all within walking distance,” said Courtney from Caloundra Holiday Centre.

They have plenty of options from 2 and 3 bedroom apartments all around the Currimundi area, a place renowned for its relaxed vibe.

“You’ll see plenty of people here on paddle boards and stand up and kayaks and if you’re an outdoor sort of person, this is the place to be,” Courtney said. “Really chilled, it’ the people, the holiday makers, they’re all the same. You know you’re coming here to relax.”
