Luke & Cody’s VIP Fraser Island Weekend Competition Winners Part 1

Six lucky friends of Queensland Weekender’s Facebook Page enjoyed a VIP weekend away at Fraser Island with Luke and Cody as winners of a competition to enjoy a Fraser Explorer 2 Day tour departing from Hervey Bay.

Day One involved a guided tour, in a four wheel drive bus, of the world heritage listed island’s inland beauty spots, including Central Station, Pile Valley and Lake McKenzie.

The Central Station stopover was an opportunity to learn about Fraser’s timber getting history, and to stroll the banks of Wanggoolba Creek. The water there is so clear and pure that it’s almost invisible.

Pile Valley has magnificent examples of the Satinay trees that for many years was used by builders of some of the world’s major marine infrastructure projects.

Lake McKenzie is a picture postcard example of Fraser Island at its most beautiful.  The fresh waters of the perched lake are swimmable year round, and it has picnic and toilet facilities which make it a great day trip destination for anyone holidaying on the island.

Overnight on the Fraser Explorer 2 Day tour is motel style at Eurong Beach Resort. Our VIP guests enjoyed  poolside cocktails and a buffet dinner and breakfast, before enjoying their second day of touring. Eurong Beach Resort is on the island’s eastern side, with absolute beachfront onto renowned 75-mile beach.
