Mary Valley Kayak

The Mary Valley is a green and pleasant country escape, south of Gympie and inland from the Sunshine Coast.  It’s about a two hours’ drive from Brisbane.

One of the best ways to explore the valley is via Route 42 – The Mary Valley Tourist Drive. It unravels through the valley’s forests, farms and cute villages.

Imbil is one of those quaint communities – and the ‘big smoke’ of the Mary Valley. The town has a classic old pub; friendly cafes; parkland; weekend markets; and a century-old butchers shop where you can pick up BBQ provisions.

Just beyond town, you’ll find Imbil Country Cabins – 4 self-contained cottages set on farmland that sits above Yabba Creek.  Each is comfortably furnished and sleeps up to 6 people. With a sparkling pool, BBQ areas and plenty of room to run around, it’s perfect for a family holiday.

If you’re keen to explore the creek more closely, “Ride on Mary” offers kayak hire and guided tours – including a dawn excursion on the peaceful waterway.
