Well, one more can now be added to the list… Burnouts!
For three days in March, Rocky hosts the noisiest car festival around… Rockynats. A truly unique event of automotive awesomeness that has to be seen to be believed.
Lovers of horsepower, show cars, burnouts and drifting are treated to a Show N Shine competition, Hot Wheels stunt show, wrestling, live bands, mullet competitions, burnout competition featuring the nation’s best, drifting along the Fitzroy River and plenty more.
One of the premier events is the drag racing which takes place in the main streets of Rockhampton. With a record 1500 cars taking part, 20,000 tickets sold and 57,000 people streaming through the gates, this event leaves nothing in the tank.
If you have a bucket list then this event is definitely one to add, it is an absolute spectacle and a brilliant way to visit the incredible region that is Central Queensland and of course the iconic city of Rockhampton.
