Spirit of Gold Coast Whale Watching

Gold Coast Whale Watching departs daily during whale season between June and October.

Cruises depart from Mariners Cove Marina next to Seaworld. Cruises last two and a half hours on board a 24 metre catamaran purpose built for whale watching.

When on board, guests are treated to a complimentary morning tea that includes tea, coffee and biscuits.

During the tour, expert crew provide information and detailed commentary.  And staff are so confident of spotting whales that if whales aren’t spotted, guests get a free return trip.

Humpback whales migrate along Australia’s eastern coastline from Antarctica. Each year about 1200 humpbacks make the epic 5000 kilometre journey.

Once guests are out on the water, everyone has their eyes peeled for whales. The humpbacks make their presence known various ways. From a distance, whale watchers can spot the ‘blow’ as the animals exhale. And when the animals are closer, guests are often thrilled by breaching, muggings, spy-hopping, tail and chin slaps.

Spirit of Gold Coast Whale Watching has different deals for guests. It’s $99 for an adult, $59 for children and a family pass for two adults and two kids is $236.
