The Gathering is an upcoming event in the city of Ipswich that is a celebration of the Celtic tradition. It highlights music, culture and performance.
Popular events include dancing competitions, pipe bands, medieval re-enactments and highland games.
There are food trucks and plenty of entertainment, making it an ideal day out for the entire family.
Nick Tomkins created the event and he’s thrilled at how it’s caught on. And he believes it’s because there’s just so much on offer… ‘We really try to make it interactive for people. So, we don’t just want people to come and sit in a grand stand all day. We want them to get involved.’
No one was more impressed that Weekender’s Chris Parsons who said, ‘Well this event has left me with two very big realisations. I’ve just found out I’m terrible at the bagpipes. I will never play again. And two, it’s a feast for the senses. It’s amazing on the eyes, the ears, the taste buds. More importantly, it gets you right here. Make sure you come along. You will not regret it. Absolutely incredible.’
The Gathering takes place over two days, the 21st and 22nd May. Tickets are limited so book your tickets online now!
