The ultimate coastal getaway – Hervey Bay

Queensland’s Fraser Coast is home to the coastal town of Hervey Bay. Just three and a half hours drive north of Brisbane, this picturesque destination has it all.

One of the main reasons people holiday in Hervey Bay is to enjoy the calmness of the water. The area is protected by World Heritage Listed, Fraser Island so no matter the season, you’ll be treated to safe, pristine beaches.

A good spot to take in the views is Aquavue Café, which overlooks Torquay Beach. Aside from serving up top-notch coffee, they also dish out a decent dose of adventure too! Here you can hire a range of land and water-based equipment including stand up paddleboards, Surrey Bikes, banana rides and jetskis. There are a number of jet ski tours on offer here too that’ll take you out to World Heritage Listed, Fraser Island.

Fraser Coast Ambassador’s Dan and Stephanie Mulheron are no strangers to this beautiful slice of Queensland. Since winning Channel 7’s 2013 Season of My Kitchen Rules, life has certainly changed for the couple yet one thing remains the same, the place they call home. Dan and Steph both grew up in Hervey Bay and it was a no-brainer to stay in the area after their success on the show. Like many of the locals, you’ll find the couple and their daughter, Emmy along the coastline lapping up the Hervey Bay lifestyle.

For those who want to soak up this coastal lifestyle a little longer, Sanctuary Lakes Fauna Retreat is the ultimate escape. These private lakefront villas are surrounded by lush, tropical reserve and the resident turtles are a real drawcard!
