Vivid Sydney 2019: Where to go in Barangaroo

With 23 days of light, music and ideas, Vivid Sydney 2019 promises to be more spectacular than ever. Now in its’ 11th year, Vivid Sydney will once again bring some of Sydney’s favourite precincts to life, and you can check them out for free! There will be awesome installations and light projections across town, from Sydney Opera House to Circular Quay and the Rocks, the Royal Botanic Garden, Darling Harbour, Chatswood, Barangaroo and Taronga Zoo.

Celebrating all things creative, Vivid Sydney will again see an extensive program of music popping up at a variety of venues around the city, including the Sydney Opera House. Featuring local and international acts, there will be a range of live performances to enjoy from talented musicians like The Cure, FKA Twigs and Rüfüs Du Sol.

Vivid Ideas will also be back for another year, with public talks, seminars, conferences and workshops to get involved in, headlined by game-changers Spike Lee and Esther Perel.

One of Sydney’s favourite food, fashion and lifestyle hubs – Barangaroo – will play a starring role in Vivid Sydney again this year, and is a central place to celebrate the land’s rich Indigenous history through Erth Visual and Physical Inc’s interactive installations. The installation celebrates the rich history of the site on which Barangaroo stands, and is inspired by stories of the land and its’ relationship with first nation peoples.

Not only can we see the lights, we can taste them! There are over 40 restaurants, bars and cafes in this buzzing precinct, and heaps of them will be offering specials throughout the event: love.fish, Untied and 12-Micron have it all! Serving up fresh produce, vibrant cocktails and desserts to tickle your sweet tooth… how could you resist the chance to immerse yourself in the ultimate dining experience?

Basing yourself at a hotel in the city is a great way to make sure you can experience as many events as possible, with many of the locations within walking distance of the CBD. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a local or if it’s your first time visiting, there’s no better time to explore Sydney!
