What to do in Marburg

The town of Marburg in the City of Ipswich is 45 minutes from Brisbane and is a great spot for a day drive or weekend getaway.

It’s full of wonderful surprises like The Soul Nook Collective, a creative hub that calls Marburg’s old church home. Inside there’s a boutique shop with fashion and wares for sale. The collective also offers gourmet grazing boxes that are perfect for an outdoor picnic.

Picnic guests are welcome to find their own spot on the property or enjoy a styled setting. There are also bell tents that are perfect for couples.

The Soul Nook Collective also offers art workshops that teach floristry, painting, crystal jewellery, chocolate making and more. They are held every Saturday.

Another big attraction in Marburg is Woodlands of Marburg. It’s a beautiful country estate with a 130-year-old mansion on site that used to be a seminary. Now it hosts weddings and corporate functions. It also boasts the Tommy Smith Café which has a delicious menu and there’s luxurious accommodation for guests.

Woodlands has recently started exhibiting movies at their Moonshine Theatre. It’s an outdoor theatre that boasts a huge screen and 7.1 digital surround sound.

Ghost tours are also on offer at Woodlands of Marburg. The tours are led by paranormal investigator Katie Harvey. The 2-hour tours take guests on a journey into the past and into the spirit world!
